An amazing
silence
Imagine a hill. You look down at the gentle rolling
slope. You feel a soft breeze can on your face. Imagine
wings. So you just raise your arms and fly.
What if all this really happened to you as it did to
me?
It was over a casual conversation that a friend
mentioned to me about the weekends he spends flying.
And no less than two weeks later, here I was at the
Begdewadi station waiting to be picked up for my
flight school.
And it was a most wonderful 3 days that I spent there.
Whether it was explaining the science which makes
paragliders fly safely or the bunny-hops that I had to
do before I could go off doing a solo - I remember
just about everything even after a month has passed
by.
And its because this school (temple pilots) is managed
by two really passionate-about-flying people- avi and
anita. With their team of experts - TJ, samson and
dhawal - they make sure that you learn well and have
fun too.
The high point is obviously the first solo that you
do. The experience of being filled with an amazing
silence when your feet first leave the ground and the
happiness when your feet touch the ground after a
couple of minutes is difficult to describe.
Mistake not, flying is a serious business - after all
you are in the air on your own. But what you need is a
healthy mix of knowledge and motivation. And i feel
that temple pilots scores high on both!
cheers
