As I stood atop the hill on a wintry Dec morning, strapped to some
strange paraphernalia on my back - I was thinking "Heck...this isn't
150 ft...people down there are a mere speck ! This is more like 1500
ft !! What am I doing here??!!"..The trainer shouted into my ears "All
clear. GO !!!" 2 steps forward...a whooosh...a blur of terra firma...&
when I came to my senses - I was grinning gleefully & thinking "Whoa
there birdy! Make way!" & "O boy !! I'm flying...I could do this over& over & over...."
Heartfelt thanks, TemplePilots, for initiating me into the wonderful
world of free flying !! I really appreciate your thoroughness in
preparation & the professionalism in inculcating enthusiasm for the
sport in novices.
